Our solid carbide drills with different substrate grades and matched coatings cover almost all common metal materials in CNC machining, classified clearly as below:

1. Carbon steel & alloy steel
Including 45# steel, A3 steel, 4140, 4340, SCM435 and other structural steel, gear steel, quenched and tempered steel. Regular coated standard drills perform stable high-speed drilling for mass production.

2. Stainless steel
304, 316, 201, duplex stainless steel and acid-resistant stainless steel. We adopt low-friction coated grade with polished flutes to avoid built-up edge, work hardening and chip clogging.

3. Cast iron
Gray cast iron, ductile iron, alloy cast iron and casting parts with minor sand inclusions. High-hardness carbide substrates resist abrasive wear from graphite grains.

4. Aluminum alloy & non-ferrous soft metals
Series 6061, 7075 aluminum, aluminum die-casting parts, copper, brass, bronze. Uncoated or DLC coated polished flute drills prevent chip sticking and hole burrs.

5. Mold steel & hardened steel
P20, 718, NAK80, H13, SKD11, pre-hardened steel and quenched steel up to HRC 48–52. High hardness ultra-fine grain carbide drills solve hard material drilling wear problems.

6. Difficult-to-cut special alloys
Titanium alloy, Inconel nickel-based superalloy, high-temperature alloy. Special high-toughness grades and heat-resistant coatings reduce thermal wear and drill breakage under heavy-load drilling.

7. Other machinable materials
Powder metallurgy parts, fiber-reinforced plastic, graphite, hard nylon and some composite plates.
Supplementary Note

We can recommend the exact drill grade, coating, point angle and internal coolant version according to your specific workpiece material, hole depth and cutting parameters.
